Potential Costs of Egg Donation

Egg Donor Fees

Egg donation costs vary between clinics, but you should anticipate between $15,000 and $20,000. You will want to find out what all is included in the fee structure: donor fees(which can range between $3,000 and 8,000+) vitro fertilization, embryo transfer, medications, embryo freezing, etc. Make sure you have a clear understanding of what is included and what is not included.

Sample Unknown Donor Fees

Agency fees: $4,000 Due upon Egg Donor selection

$4,000

This does not include costs associated with IVF procedures for the egg donor.

Fees can vary tremendously depending on numerous factors.  For example, Indiana state laws prohibit egg donors from compensated more than $3000.  If you are looking for a particular ethnic group or other distinction (Ivy League, for example), expect to pay more – some people have paid up to $30,000, but this is discouraged.

Known Donor Fees

If someone you know, such as a close friend or family member, decides to donate her eggs, there will still be expenses involved.   You will still need to pay for all medical screenings, IVF expenses, as well as attorney fees, psychological review and insurance.  When you are operating without an agency, do not attempt to save a few hundred dollars by eliminating any of these costs.
